Sunovia Energy Technologies Inc. (Florida, Sarasota) and Epir Technologies Inc. (state Ilinoi Bolingbrook) has announced the break to keep for many years cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin film solar battery open circuit voltage (Voc). Unique structure of junction voltage exceeds 1.34V II-VI comprised 95% of the theoretical line, while the corresponding previously reported, the highest Voc only 0.91V. "This is by far in the CdTe solar batteries obtained in the higher Voc," Epir photovoltaic materials technology, advanced research and development manager Michael Carmody said. "There has been no published data obtained in this close to our results, we believe that dual-junction device will be the first use of CdTe and other II-VI family of materials and unique efficacy dual battery-chip junction solar.” Epir technology (co-owned with Sunovia) will lead the growth of CdTe on silicon substrates, reducing manufacturing costs, and allows partners to use the semi-conductors has been proven manufacturing techniques and equipment. "Epir grown on silicon double junction II-VI family of materials will be designed to achieve mass production of over 35% conversion efficiency and the cost is only three junction of the family of III-V solar batteries a game, "said Carmody. "Silicon on the three-junction solar batteries II-VI family in case of no additional cost to achieve greater production efficiency." Sunovia and the recently announced extension of its pilot line Epir for plant facilities, and working to complete the initialization of the capacity of 100MW manufacturing. The two companies have developed technology compared with its competitors, its patented BATCL50L battery manufacturing process requires a much smaller plant, and as long as that previously carried a small fraction of the cost of making Full Update. |
